Is your business or organisation complying with the Waste (Scotland) 2012 Regulations?
Clacksfirst BID, in partnership with and funded by Zero Waste Scotland, launched a pilot scheme offering a FREE uplift of cardboard, plastic, paper and aluminium cans, recyclable materials which historically would have gone to landfill.
The pilot scheme was also a means to demonstrate that, when these dry recyclable materials were taken out of a business’ or organisations general waste, there should be a reduction in cost to the business relative to their general waste collections.
Given that the volume of separated materials continued to grow throughout the pilot scheme and, based on the positive feedback from the organisations using the service, Clacksfirst BID continued to fund the free-to-members service.
Our partner, ACE Recycling, carries out the uplift service every Wednesday afternoon. We will supply your business with recycling bags for paper, cans and plastic which must be presented separately, cardboard should also be presented from 12noon on Wednesdays. It is advantageous to let us know that you would like to use the service, if you contact email@example.com Frank Robertson, BID Recycling Officer will meet with you and offer guidance regarding what you should or shouldn’t do.
Generally, the only period of the year when timings of the uplift can vary is Christmas and New Year. We will advise, on a year-by-year basis, of timings in due course.
Clacksfirst BID, in partnership with and funded by Clackmannanshire & Stirling Environment Trust and Clackmannanshire Environmental Improvement Fund, has installed more than twenty litter and recycling bins throughout the BID Area.
Our aim is to keep the working environment litter free and to encourage recycling-on-the-go. The litter and recycling bins are serviced through partnership working with Clackmannanshire Council.
